Weld – Reseda luteola

Weld is a powerful yellow dye derived from the flowers and stems of Reseda luteola. It produces vibrant lemon yellows, golden tones, and, when used with iron, can shift to olive greens. Weld is a favourite in natural dyeing for its ability to yield bright, long-lasting colours.

Known for its excellent colourfastness and lightfastness, Weld is a staple for creating bold yellow hues and is often used in combination with other dyes to achieve rich, layered colour effects.
