About

Studio Tinta is an independent textile studio based on Awabakal land in Muloobinba, Newcastle, NSW. The practice centres on hand-painted and dyed silk, approached as a surface for gesture, colour exploration, and material investigation.

Each piece is produced individually using silk paints and natural dyes. The result is controlled unpredictability, with subtle variations that are integral to the work. All works are made in limited editions, documented by series. No two pieces are identical.

Studio Tinta is informed by contemporary painting, textile history, and material research. The intention is to create objects of lasting value: textiles that hold visual presence and structural integrity over time.

Collaboration

Studio Tinta works with interior designers, stylists, and select gallery retail partners. Custom colourways and limited runs are available by discussion.
