Marigold Powder – Tagetes 
This powdered dye is made from dried marigold flowers (Tagetes), a reliable and easy-to-use source of natural yellow. It produces vibrant golden yellows and warm oranges on both cellulose (cotton, linen) and protein fibres (wool, silk), with excellent colourfastness when properly mordanted.

Using alum as a mordant gives bright yellows, while iron will shift the colour toward olive green. It can also be used in combination with other dyes to expand your palette.

Ideal for immersion dyeing and bundle dyeing. This powder is finely ground for easy preparation and strong colour yield.

Recommended mordants: Alum (for bright yellows), Iron (for olive tones)
Fibre compatibility: Suitable for both plant and animal fibres
Form: Fine powder
Light & washfastness: Moderate to good (improves with mordanting)

Use approx. 20–30% weight of fibre (WOF) for medium depth of shade.
