Hand-Painted Silk Satin Pillowcase

Each piece has been individually hand-painted and dyed in Newcastle, NSW using silk paints and natural dyes.

Created in small batches, every work carries evidence of the hand. Variations in tone, mark, and surface are integral to the piece, giving each pillowcase its own distinct character.

Material: 100% silk satin, 22 momme

Size: 52 cm × 72 cm with envelope closure

Care

Fibres naturally soften with gentle use. Wash in cold water with a mild detergent, dry flat in shade, and warm iron on reverse if needed.

Process

Pigments are applied by hand, allowing colour to move and respond to the silk’s fibres, tension, and gravity. Surfaces are heat-set to ensure lasting colour and durability.

Editions

Studio Tinta produces work in small, documented editions. Each colourway within a series is numbered and recorded, and once an edition is complete, it is not reproduced in identical form.
