Cutch extract (Acacia Catechu) - 200gm

Create stunning shades of brown with this extract made from 100% Acacia Catechu wood.

On its own you will achieve a tan, or blend with:

• Iron mordant for a deep chocolate brown

• Marigold powder for mustard/brown

• Madder powder for a rusty red/brown

• Sodium carbonate will redden the dye (add a pinch at a time, stir and then add more if needed)

Cutch can be used on protein fibres like silk and wool without a mordant. To dye plant fibres like cotton or linen, first mordant with tannin and aluminium.

Use at 20% weight of fibre for a medium shade. Increase or decrease for personal preference.
